Irinjalakuda is strategically nourished by two streams. The two streams that could have deemed the land to be a strategic location for growth and prosperity were the streams, from Kurmalipuzha and from Kudapuzha, that belongs to Chalakudypuzha. This aided agricultural and commercial welfare of Irinjalakuda and surrounding areas. Still the distinct climate and abundance of water in this area could be attributed to the availability of freshwater.
